It surprises me that a lot of RvB fans aren’t Halo fans. Halo is what got me into RvB in the first place, and I can’t imagine watching RvB without knowing Halo canon.

I’m the other way around - I’d never had a chance to play Halo, nor any interest to, until I watched RvB and became fascinated with its universe. I’d been thinking about getting an Xbox for months, but that was what finally pushed me over, and I’m really glad it did. I’ve been making my way through the games and books and I’ve been enjoying them more than I ever expected I would. (I’d never even played a shooter before!) It’s interesting seeing it from the other side - now, when I watch RvB, I understand all of the references to it. Before, the only thing I knew was that Master Chief was green and that there were aliens, and now? Now I can actually appreciate it all.

Plus there is absolutely nothing like running through a multiplayer map and finding a “set” for RvB you didn’t expect. Coolest feeling ever.

I don’t care what anyone thinks about Halo: ODST.

It has a fucking beautiful soundtrack.

I enjoyed playing ODST, I don’t know why everyone hates it.

I didn’t get through much of ODST but I’m planning on finishing it. The score was really interesting and I liked it a lot, but nothing tops out the Halo 3 score for me. It’s p e r f e c t.

I’m playing through ODST for the first time right now and enjoying it, but I’ve spent most of the past few weeks listening to the Halo soundtracks. I don’t usually listen to video game soundtracks before I play a game on account of the fact that they don’t usually stick out to me unless I have visuals to go with them, but the Halo music’s been an exception because it’s just so goddamn gorgeous. So now playing through ODST I find I recognize the music and find it all the more haunting and beautiful.
