MY FAVE EVER. Like I thought the original was good, but geez Brotherhood blew it out the park.

i loved the original - a lot of it has to do with nostalgia, because it was one of the first series i got to watch subbed in full, i borrowed it from someone who’d downloaded it (they had the files burned on CDs, it was that long ago). i’d already loved the manga, but getting to watch the anime was great, because i loved the characters and the story already, and seeing it animated was wonderful, no matter what differences there were to the original story.

i know a lot of people dislike the differences in the original anime, but honestly i just considered it to be a different interprepretation of the series. i also loved the movie, which i know was even more polarizing, but i considered it to be a great ending to the story the first anime told.

of course, i still enjoyed the manga for the years it was running, and i really think it’s the best mainstream shounen series out there. the longer chapters really allowed the story and characters to be more fleshed out than other series, and the plot arcs were allowed to come to fantastic fruition.

…it’s 5am i hope you didn’t expect anything other than nightblogging ok
